Biografia:

Abel Tesfaye, in arte The Weeknd, nasce a Toronto nel 1990.

Inizia la sua carriera musicale pubblicando alcuni brani su Youtube, tra i quali una collaborazione con il noto rapper canadese Drake, brani che vanno poi a fare parte di tre mixtape pubblicati come “Trilogy”.

Dotato di un caratteristico falsetto, il suo stile fonde il r’n’b’, l’alternative, l’hiphop, rock e rap. The Weeknd pubblica il suo album d’esordio nel 2013, intitolato “Kiss Land”, mentre nell’agosto 2015 esce il suo nuovo album, “Beauty behind the madness”, che vanta collaborazioni con Ed Sheeran, Lana Del Rey, Kanye West e che contiene il singolo “Earned it” tratto dalla colonna sonora di “Cinquanta sfumature di grigio”.
